Graduates of the program are specialists in the field of operation of electric rolling stock of railroads, subways and urban electric transport, including electric buses, and are known both in Russia and abroad.
The training program includes both general education and specialty disciplines.
Considerable attention is paid to the study of computer science, computer modeling of electric propulsion devices (e. p. s.), and the theory of electric traction. Students study control systems e. p. s., electrical circuits of rolling stock, mechanical design, dynamics and strength of rolling stock, power and information electronics and converter technology, microprocessor control systems, the theory of automatic control. Also studied are questions of reliability theory, methods of organization of repair and maintenance of rolling stock.
